Your API key
Which roles should the key have?
Tick these three when you make the key, and nothing else:
- Developer for review status, TestFlight builds and tester feedback
- Customer Support for reviews, and sending your replies
- Sales and Reports for downloads and proceeds
Don’t use Admin. An Admin key can manage users, change prices and edit your apps, and AppVue needs none of that: it only reads, plus posts a review reply when you tap Send.
Apple doesn’t let you add roles to a key after it’s made. If your key is missing one, create a new key with all three, swap it in under Settings › Key & access, and revoke the old one. Anything a key can’t read shows as “not available,” never as a zero.
Can I use an Individual key?
Yes, but Apple doesn’t give Individual keys access to sales reports. For downloads and proceeds, use a Team key.
Where do I find my vendor number?
In App Store Connect, open Payments and Financial Reports. Your vendor number is at the top left, under your legal entity name. It’s all digits. Apple files sales reports under it, so AppVue needs it to show downloads and proceeds.
The access check shows an error for Sales.
When a key doesn’t have the Sales and Reports role, Apple often answers with a server error instead of a clear “no.” Make a new key with all three roles and swap it in. If your key already has that role, the problem is on Apple’s side: tap Check access again later.
I lost my .p8 file. What now?
Apple doesn’t let you download a key twice. Create a new key, connect it in AppVue, and revoke the old one in App Store Connect.
How do I disconnect or revoke the key?
In AppVue, go to Settings › Key & access and remove it. Then revoke it in App Store Connect under Users and Access › Integrations. If you lose your phone, revoking the key there stops it working right away.
Numbers & updates
Why are the newest sales from yesterday?
Apple reports sales by Pacific Time day and posts each day’s report the next morning, usually around 8 AM Pacific. AppVue shows the latest finished day and labels it, like “Sales for Oct 23 (PT).”
Why does a number say “not available” instead of 0?
A zero would be misleading. AppVue shows a dash or “not available” when Apple hasn’t posted a report yet, the vendor number is missing, or the key can’t read that data. A real zero-sales day shows as 0.
How often does AppVue update?
Every time you open it, and whenever you pull down to refresh. In the background, it checks when iOS allows, often a few times a day and more if you open it daily.
Why don’t the numbers match my payments?
Daily sales reports are Apple’s estimates. Your payments come from Apple’s financial reports, which account for taxes, refunds and exchange rates. For accounting, use those reports in App Store Connect.
Alerts & widgets
Which alerts can I get?
Free: review status changes, builds that finish processing or fail, and low reviews. Pro adds every new review, your first sale, TestFlight feedback and a morning digest. Choose them in Settings › Alerts, and set quiet hours there too.
Why did an alert arrive late?
AppVue has no server, so it can only check when iOS gives it background time. Alerts can arrive minutes to hours after a change. Opening AppVue checks right away. For instant notifications, Apple’s App Store Connect app is the real-time option.
How do I add a widget?
Touch and hold your Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose AppVue. The small widget is free; medium, large and Lock Screen widgets need Pro. If a widget looks faded, it hasn’t been updated in 24 hours. Open AppVue to refresh it.
Pro & purchases
What does Pro include?
Every app plus an All apps view, a year of sales history, review replies, TestFlight feedback screenshots and crash logs, medium, large and Lock Screen widgets, and the extra alerts. Review-status, build and low-review alerts stay free.
Pro is $29.99 a year, $5.99 a month or $99.99 once for Lifetime. Family Sharing is on for all three.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open the paywall from Settings in AppVue and tap Restore Purchases while signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy Pro.
How do I cancel a subscription?
In your iPhone’s Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then AppVue. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, and nothing you’ve set up is deleted when Pro ends.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We never see your payment details.
